Sport has a huge role to play in meeting children’s emotional needs and reducing the impact of the growing mental health crisis faced by young people today. At RPT, we know how important regular exercise is for a young person’s mental wellbeing and their physical development. There are also the social benefits offered through regular group sport including the development of enhanced communication skills, team-working skills and a sense of belonging. Despite these tremendous benefits so many local children lack a suitable space, equipment and the financial resources to engage in regular structured sport and exercise.
At RPT, we recognise the huge value in sport and expertise which is why we offer a wide range of programs including:
• An award-winning football academy supporting 130 children each year
• Weekly basketball sessions attracting young people from across West London (helping to breakdown postcode barriers)
• Badminton and tennis sessions
• Personal training groups
We are committed to our sports programmes because we see their impact first-hand. But, we need your help to keep these programmes funded.
Our sport and fitness programmes run five days a week, supporting 1000 children and young people, yet we don’t receive any statutory funding for these programmes.
Please give your support to the children and young people of North Kensington to ensure every child has access to high quality, regular sport and fitness.
• Pledge £500 to support 4 children in sport through the next 12 months.
• Pledge £1,500 to support 24 children in sport through the next 12 months.
